Team Leaders/Coaches Under 6 - Under 11 - IMPORTANT

The season is just around the corner and by this weekend, all teams will have started training (fingers crossed for good weather for the remainder of the week). Games are scheduled to commence on Saturday 7 March! With this in mind, we have scheduled a meeting with our Junior Director of Coaching, Russell Dennis. These will be at the clubhouse as follows:

Under 6 & Under 7              Saturday 28 February           2.00pm

Under 8 - Under 11              Saturday 28 February           3.30pm

These sessions will be invaluable for all team leaders/coaches as Russell will set the scene for the season as well as offer words of wisdom!

Another invaluable resource will be the Grassroots Course being conducted at Souths on Wednesday 4 March from 6pm. This course is FREE! The course was originally designed for school teachers who are roped into coaching football - many of them did not have a football background. The course is specifically designed for MiniRoos age groups Under 6 - Under 9. It will be conducted by Paul Lonton, Assistant Technical Director for Brisbane Strikers.

To take advantage of this opportunity, please register at https://education-ffa.sportingpulse.com/event.asp?ID=11672    Registrations are essential

Coaches and Managers - URGENT INFORMATION

Football Brisbane have introduced Photo ID Tags this year. All coaches and managers wishing to sit in the technical area will need to have this. This means that you need to self-register online through the My Football Club portal - either Coach or Volunteer tab as applicable. No tag - no permission to sit in the technical area.

Football Brisbane have given a VERY TIGHT TIME LINE. All coaches and managers must have registered and uploaded a photo by THIS FRIDAY, 27 February. There are strict guidelines regarding the photo:

  1. no smiling is permitted
  2. sunglasses and caps/hats are not to be worn
  3. face needs to be clearly visible
  4. plain background
  5. head and shoulders only

With fixtures having started for some teams and about to start for others, it is IMPERATIVE that if you are a coach or a manager or you may act in this role at some stage during the season, you must register NOW and upload a photo. This applies primarily to Under 12s and older.

Junior Girls Teams Update

A review of the make-up of this year's junior female teams has now been completed. Thank you for your patience while this was undertaken.

Female football is and has always been vastly different to their male counterparts. Even at National Premier Leagues level, there are not enough female players to have teams in every age group therefore the vast majority of all-female junior teams are a composite of 2 and in some cases, 3 age groups eg in NPL, there is an Under 12/13, an Under 14/15 and Youth age group consisting of U16 - U20 players.

MiniRoos Team Lists - Progressively Uploaded

MiniRoos (Under 6 - Under 11) team lists will be progressively uploaded this week. Please check under the MiniRoos tab > Teams and Fixtures.
